Twittfriends: How are you connected?

Long time since we write since the last time… first of all we want to apologize for all this time, we will try this don’t happen again.

The main topic of this post is to announce that Twittfriends has won the Mashup of the day for January 2, 2009!

For those who doesn’t know what is, a mashup is a combination of data sources to create a unified interface and experience. And Twittfriends is an example of this, we get and process the info from twitter and display it through the web.

We want thank you for following us and using our tool we made for you, we will have some news for you very soon.

Hey twittfriends!

How are you? A lot of time since we met for the last time, sorry but for a circumstances of the real life we couldn’t dedicate all the time we want to twittfriends… but here we are with great news!

Yes, we have updated twittfriends with a new functionality, the searcher. With the new search feature you can search the name of an specific twitter user and see the friend information like then. We want recommend you use this tool for example when a new buddy is following you, so many times we recieved an email telling “user X is following you on twitter” and you question yourself who is that person? Well, with search tool you can know who is, type his/her name and discover how you are connected.

Today we released a new version of twittfriends.

In this new version we have resolved some bugs and added a new feature. Now when you are watching a friend you will see if he or she is following you, in addition you are no longer appearing in the list unshared friends, so that’s the reason because you see one less friend in your total.

We are working on more changes that will be updated soon, stay tunned!

My last word is to appreciate all your support thought twitter and other media like blogs and mails, we really appreciate that and soon we pay you back.

Yesterday we talked with Cyberfrancis about twittfriends, it only took a pair of direct messages throught twitter and today when we woke up genbeta had a post about twittfriends!

We don’t know how will affect this to twittfriends and its stats, but for sure it are good news!

Hi!

First day in the life of twittfriends is over, but we think and hope this is the first day of a lot of more days. We are writing this to thank you all for your welcome, we are so proud and so happy you like the application but let’s talk about numbers.

Maybe for the others the stats of the first day are not the best stats of the network, but for us they are. Twittfriends.com received a total amount of 54 visits with 353 pages seen which the great majority of them came from twitter.

And what about the blog? it recieved 92 visits but “only” 29 were unique visitors and the top referrer was not twitter this time, was the “about” page of twittfriends!

So, what it means? Numbers don’t lie, is true that they are not a big numbers but thinking about the problems we have at the beginning, sounds encouraging. We hope numbers keep growing, we prefer a stable growth than a big numbers at first, it would mean that twittfriends is a useful application for twitter users, and this is the aim we are searching.

And that’s it! Thank you all again and remember you can suggest any ideas you have to implement by sending us an email.

Hi all, first of all we want to apologize about the errors we get during the launchment of twittfriends.

All users have tried to sign in twittfriends with no success, we don’t know the reason yet but seems that twitter has been in trouble during all day (good day to start twittfriends, isn’t it?) as we can see at Twitter Development Talk of Google Groups.

We are not sure about this would be the reason, we are working on it and if you have some idea about it, don’t hesitate to explain us, we are all ears.

With this question we want to start a new project called Twittfriends.

Twittfriends grew out of the interests of the network we were creating around Twitter and the question about how are we connected with our friends, which friends do we have in common? Does your friend has any friends that seem interesting for me? Or you just want to know who is following? Maybe you are curious about which tweets has favouritized from you… things like this and many more are the goal of twittfriends whose concept we could resume with just one question, how are you connected?

When you sign in twittfriends the first page you will see is a list of all your friends. At this moment you can start discovering who is following your friends and which friends you do have in common, the only thing you have to do is click on one of your friends and another page will show you the connection with your buddy.

But it does not end here, this first version of twittfriends is only the beginning of (we hope) a great web application with a lot of features, features we know you want as twitter users and some other features you could suggest us to implement, all your appreciations will be considered and studied for the implementation, so feel free to contribute!

We recommend you not to use any Twitter client like twitterrific or twitterfox along with twittfriends because the requests to twitter are limited and using more than one client may cause a rate limit exceed. So, if you are using a client disable it and wait for a few minutes, then you would get a full experience from twittfriends.

At this point it only remains for us to say we hope you enjoy the experience with twittfriends and the relation with you would be the longest that we can.
